Biological Sciences (UG): Year Two Wellbeing Representative

Hello everyone,

This is Eda Bakay, a second-year Biological Sciences student, and I’m running for Wellbeing Representative because university has another dimension beyond academics: supporting each other and building a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. I am deeply passionate about student wellbeing and have experience in pastoral care and peer support. I have volunteered multiple times in hospitals in my home country, assisting patients and healthcare teams, which strengthened my emotional resilience and ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. This year, I am also preparing to volunteer weekly with the NHS, continuing my commitment to helping others through meaningful service. Looking ahead, I hope to pursue a career in medicine or dietetics, where I can continue working in a philanthropic and wellbeing-focused environment, combining science with real human impact in clinical and hospital settings. Wellbeing is not just a role I’m applying for , it’s something I genuinely care about and actively live by.
If elected, I hope to bring compassion, dedication, and action to represent your voice. Thank you:)
