Chemical Engineering (UG): Year One Wellbeing Representative

Hi, I’m Andrew, and I’m running for First Year Wellbeing Rep.

This role really appeals to me as I am keen to be more involved my year and department. The chance of working closely with staff, other reps, and fellow students genuinely excites me and I look forward to the opportunity to meet and support as many new people as possible.

Previously, I have been a school student council member and a volunteer tutor for primary school kids – and in both instances I found working with, and assisting people to be massively rewarding. Additionally bringing awareness to any issues other students faced, and addressing their concerns has provided me with a massive boost in my confidence and ability to push for changes to happen.

As your First Year Wellbeing Rep, I will aim to strengthen our year’s sense of community, so we can all work together to support and help each other out. On top of this I will be easily accessible to talk to at any time if you have a concern, and I will ensure that all support available is known about and has clear signposting.

If elected, I will listen to, and act upon any issues that are brought up and will be easily approachable to ensure that your concerns are heard. It is well within our power to ensure everyone enjoys the upcoming year and I guarantee that together we are capable of making it an inclusive, fun, and empowering one.
