Postgraduate Taught Academic & Welfare Officer (Engineering)

As a passionate and driven Bioengineering postgraduate, I am dedicated to ensuring that every student’s voice is valued and represented. Having previously served as Class Representative for both my undergraduate degrees in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering, I understand the importance of creating a bridge between students and academic staff - one built on transparency, communication, and trust.

In these roles, I consistently advocated for my peers, helped resolve course-related concerns, and worked to improve feedback processes. In these roles, I coordinated teams, managed projects, and built partnerships that strengthened community engagement - experiences that have reinforced my belief in collaborative leadership.

If elected as Academic and Welfare Representative, I will:

  • Actively listen to and advocate for student feedback at departmental meetings.

  • Promote open communication between students and faculty to enhance teaching and learning.

  • Encourage an inclusive, supportive academic environment where all perspectives are respected.

  • Work to ensure that our experience reflects the innovation and interdisciplinary spirit of Bioengineering.

I am deeply committed to fostering a postgraduate community that thrives both academically and personally. With empathy, accountability, and initiative, I will ensure that our collective voice helps shape a stronger and more connected programme.

Vote Isabelle Boles - for representation that listens, leads, and delivers!
