Hello, I’m Gareth from Hong Kong.
Being a student at Cheltenham, UK, for the last 5 years, I have had the privilege to serve as the president of the Science society and as a prefect at school. Through these experiences, I am well-versed in representing and voicing the needs of my cohort.
Being in touch with students from older years at Imperial, I have learnt that the value this role holds stems from the ability to drive changes to fulfil our needs and ambitions. I am excited to stand for this role to contribute to our shared experience as freshers. As a representative, I promise you the following:
- I will make every effort to ensure every voice is heard, respected, and valued. Through regular feedback forms, open forums, or informal chats, your voice will shape our experience.
- To make positive changes, I will actively relay academic concerns by working closely with members of staff – resolving software issues, extending coursework deadlines, locating practice papers and career resources, the list goes on…
- I will make the most of the networks with upper years, through the Biochemistry society and tutorial system, to ensure feedback from previous years is passed down, in order to make improvements.
In a nutshell, I’m here to represent you. If you simply want to chat about how we can make our year better, I’m always open to hearing from you. Let’s work together to create the experience we all deserve.
