Hi Everyone!
My name is Shanaya and I am really excited to campaign for this role and represent you guys at the year rep level :)
Here are some reasons why I believe I'm the right person for the job:
Experience:
- I was elected as BioSoc Academic Events Officer, where I organised and ran academic talks and seminars. This involved liaising with key stakeholders, communicating with a wide range of people, and turning their feedback into practical actions for the society. Through this experience, I stayed connected with the wider cohort, lecturers, and organisers, which has prepared me well for this role.
Quick Resolution:
- Being a biologist is stressful, and I want to help reduce that by ensuring clear communication with the department. I will always make sure people feel comfortable approaching me with any concerns so that issues can be resolved quickly and effectively.
Passionate:
- I'm passionate about making sure everyone’s voice is heard. I know firsthand that issues around marks and protocols can sometimes affect our experience, and I want to make sure those concerns are communicated and addressed promptly so we can all have the best possible year.
