I'm gonna say it straight - "I'm locking in 2nd year" is a mentality that will only set you up for failure. Rather, allow me to introduce the ONE thing and its underlying mechanism that I will provide which will make you call this year (the hardest year of your ChemEng degree)...a success!....and more interestingly redefine what success should actually be, and obviously it is not rotting in the library 40 hours a day to get a 1st.
Like many of you, I aspire to get a 1st or dare I dream, dean's list or (hopefully), to not fail Reactions. But also like many of you, I have dreams outside of the classroom like running sub 2hrs in my next half marathon or play football on Sundays or reread the Harry Potter for the 9th round. Whether you resonate with the same aspirations I do does not matter to me, but what I DO care is that you have the time and resources to achieve them. Which brings me to my one key focus that I will implement as your next Academic Rep.
My sole goal will be to minimize your time studying.
Why? Because I will be the one 'locking-in' for you guys, ironing out any academic obstacles, smoothening work overloads, and providing you with the best academic support. Let's face it, who wants to be studying Reactions when your (insert mickey-mouse course) friends are having a night out?
Success also means 9hrs of sleep.
