Hello! I’m Harshil Patel (HP like the sauce) and I’ve got the sauce to be your academic rep for this year!!!

Confused about the year? Wondering how to balance placement, quality improvement projects, studies and life at the same time? Struggling to comprehend how to learn conditions from a list with limited guidance from faculty on useful resources? These are all common struggles in the first clinical year of medical school but, with me as your academic rep, they don’t have to be! I will get concrete answers and generate robust solutions (such as a faculty approved shared document with relevant resources) so that we all can benefit! Having had meetings with senior tutors about my struggles, I know what to say and how to deliver real change!

In addition to all of this, I plan to streamline the way we get feedback about exams and information about opportunities outside the degree for portfolio building (vital for speciality applications) by addressing these issues head on with faculty. However, most of all, I intend to amplify your voice as a member of the student body through shorter, more relevant, feedback forms (survey fatigue is a real thing).
