Hello medics!
My name is Lamya and I hope to be one of your academic representatives. As a small introduction for those who don’t know me yet, I hold controversial opinions on the POM module (I love it) and like to go caving on weekends.
I’m sure many of you have heard that second year is one of the most challenging years of our degree, so my aim is to work with faculty to support our cohort and remove unnecessary academic stress. That starts with a few things:
- More consistent lecture quality across BRS topics
- Widening the limited pool of study resources from faculty
- Developing better defined learning objectives for certain modules like PVB and PCH
- Improvements to the attendance recording system
- And anything else you suggest!
So what makes me a good academic rep? I am:
- Approachable; I’m eager to help and want to hear from you, so please don't hesitate to speak to me!
- Reliable; once you make a point to raise to faculty, it will be noted and discussed at SSLGs. I’m here to turn your feedback into actionable points.
- A good communicator; I can articulate points clearly and can easily collaborate to create solutions.
- Diligent; I’ll see a task through and complete it to the highest standard. I aim to implement real changes, will consistently follow up on them and listen for your feedback to see how said changes affect your academic work.
Thanks for your time, I hope I can count on your vote :)
