Hello everyone! I am Dallon! Medicine is demanding, and when lectures rush through 50 PowerPoint slides in 40 minutes🤯, it only adds to the challenge. Many of us have left sessions feeling confused and wished that the lecturer could have slowed down the pace. Hearing my cohort's frustrations has motivated me to run for Academic Representative to speak up for us🤝 by proactively collaborating with the ICSMSU Academic Officer and ICSM staff.
From the first two weeks, I've seen that rushed lectures, incorrect or missing materials, and technical issues can impact our studies. I will be a bridge to escalate academic issues raised by students, as I work with staff to ensure we can experience and engage with the course content comfortably.
If I am selected to be the Academic Representative, I will advocate for three "corrects" in terms of lectures and online learning:
✔Correct timing
✔Correct material
✔Correct format
I will also push for three "more":
🙌More practice questions
🙌More revision material
🙌More detailed syllabus
Collaborating with other Academic Representatives, we will publish monthly debriefs on our targets and accomplished tasks to ensure transparency and clarity.
