Hi everyone,

I'm Siqi, running to be your Year 2 Academic Rep! This year, I aim to prioritise CCS:

• Communication: We run into many difficulties as students, from admin matters to module content. However, there may not always be the opportunity to voice our concerns. Hence, I will advocate for our cohort, and not just during official meetings. This includes consistently collecting complaints such as lecture pacing and module structures. Together with the other reps, I will then send feedback directly to the lecturers, so that the modules can be tailored to our needs.
• Compromise: The issues we face may not always be easily resolved. By facilitating communication between students and the department, I aim to bridge any gaps so that we can meet in the middle. For example, if there are multiple deadlines for different modules within the same timeframe, I will negotiate with the department for a better schedule.
• Success: By ensuring our voices are heard, I hope that our second year in CivEng is as steady, frictionless, and well-supported as possible.

After all, what's a building without its foundations?
