Szymon Kwidzinski

Polish: Finance Officer

My name is Szymon KwidziƄski, and I’m running for Finance Officer of the Polish Society to bring strategic financial leadership, fundraising experience, and operational transparency to one of the most vibrant cultural societies at Imperial.

Having founded and led See the Sea, an award-winning environmental initiative, I’ve built and managed sustainable budgets from scratch. I raised over £2,000 for the MARE Foundation through a hybrid revenue model combining sponsorship, crowdfunding, and events. I’ve worked directly with university finance departments, local businesses, and NGOs to ensure smooth, accountable fund management.

I also bring practical experience from internships in sustainable start-ups, private equity, and real estate, where I conducted cost analyses, pitched investment ideas, and managed partner relations. These roles have shaped my ability to think critically about risk, growth, and financial planning.

As Finance Officer, I will:

- Ensure transparency and accessibility: publish clear, understandable budgets and regular spending reports. Every member should know how our funds are spent.

- Secure strategic sponsorships: working with Polish companies and London-based institutions to create recurring funding partnerships for our flagship events and new initiatives.

- Support bold ideas with smart budgeting: I will collaborate closely with the rest of the committee to make sure creative event concepts can become financially viable realities.

I believe the Polish Society deserves a finance officer who treats its budget like an investment in people, culture, and impact. I’d be honoured to serve and help us build something lasting.
