Sudharshan Palaniappa

Hi, I’m Sudharshan, a third-year medical student, and I am excited to be running for Sponsorship Officer of the Transplant and Vascular Society.

The fields of transplant and vascular medicine are both fascinating and critical to improving patient care. I believe securing the right sponsorships will allow us to expand the society’s reach, host more educational events, and offer valuable opportunities for students to engage with experts in these fields.

My experience in leadership and event coordination makes me well-equipped for this role. As National Conference Lead in SORA, I am working closely with partners to organise this large-scale academic event. I have also recognised the importance of building relationships with sponsors, understanding their goals, and crafting mutually beneficial partnerships. Additionally, as Research Coordinator in Clinical Genetics Society, I gained hands-on experience in searching for sponsorships and ensuring that events meet the needs of both participants and sponsors.

If elected as Sponsorship Officer, my priorities will include:

• Securing valuable sponsorships from companies in transplant, vascular medicine, and related industries to support events and workshops
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with sponsors, ensuring they continue to see the benefits of partnering with the society
• Expanding the scope of sponsorships, reaching out to diverse sectors to bring in new opportunities and resources for students
