Transplant and Vascular Society: Conference Chair

Hey everyone!

I’m Marya, and I’m running for Transplant & Vascular Surgery Conference Chair to redefine next year’s event. As a founding member of the Transplant & Vascular Society and the Events Officer, I bring strong experience in event management, surgical education, and fostering innovation. I’m excited to bring a fresh perspective to the Transplant & Vascular Surgery Conference 2025/26.

Aims:

  • Publicity & Engagement – I plan to launch a targeted campaign showcasing the conference's highlights, from world-class speakers to interactive workshops. I’ll drive early ticket sales through a strategic marketing push to enhance the visibility and outreach of the event.
  • New Workshops – I aim to introduce a series of new and improved hands-on workshops, including cutting-edge vascular surgery techniques, organ preservation, and transplant innovations. By collaborating with renowned surgical organisations, we will offer advanced workshops that provide practical, real-world skills. I’ll also introduce a pre-conference suturing and vascular access skills course to help attendees develop essential technical abilities before the main conference.
  • Broadening the Speaker Line-up – I plan to invite leading UK-based vascular and transplant surgeons, such as Professor John Dark (Newcastle), Mr David Jenkins (St George's), and Professor Nigel Heaton (Kings College Hospital). Their expertise will be invaluable in shaping the future of vascular and transplant surgery.

Transplant & Vascular Surgery 2024 demonstrated the power of surgical innovation. If elected, I aim to build on that momentum, focusing on pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in both fields!

Thank you :)
