Gospel Choir: Welfare Secretary

Hey, I'm Fayowa and I’d love to be your welfare secretary this year!

As soon as I joined Gospel Choir, I was embraced by a welcoming, compassionate and friendly environment. I felt at peace and at home. It felt as if I had been part of the community from the beginning. Being a member has allowed me to develop and grow both spiritually and mentally.

I would like everyone to embrace the warmth and lovely feeling I felt when joining Gospel Choir, by acting as a familiar face and point of contact when things may not be going to plan. I believe it important to remember that “You may make your plans, but God directs your actions.”(Proverbs 16:9)

There are many times when university becomes stressful and overwhelming. As welfare secretary, I would like to provide support to all members where I will always be happy to listen and talk to anyone. I hope I can become someone you can rely on. A healthy mind and soul allows us to continue to thrive and live in the way that God wants us to live. There is not anything God cannot do, so talking and praying to God comes first.

As welfare secretary, I would like to come up with different strategies / events with other members to ensure that the wellbeing of our community is as strong as possible:

  • Events for unwinding
  • Allocating people throughout the choir to speak to
  • Bible study nights

Thank you and God bless.
