Vision: WATCCH Officer

As someone who has personally benefited from mentorship and support, I understand how transformative it can be to receive guidance through the tough journey of applying to medical school. I have previously been involved in the WATCCH program and, over the past few years, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring many students externally to help them navigate the medical school application process. I believe that access to medicine should not be limited by socioeconomic background, and I am passionate about breaking down the barriers that prevent talented students from pursuing their dream careers.

As WATCCH Officer, I will dedicate myself to:

  • Expanding the reach of the WATCCH scheme, ensuring more students from widening participation backgrounds receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Creating stronger connections between students and mentors, helping applicants feel supported every step of the way.
  • Building relationships with local schools and outreach programs to increase awareness of WATCCH and make sure all students have the tools to compete in the challenging medical school application process.

Having already worked with students to help them gain access to medical school, I know that hard work, dedication, and the right support can turn the dream of becoming a doctor into reality. I will bring that same passion and commitment to the WATCCH program, ensuring that no student is left behind. Together, we can make sure that all aspiring medics, regardless of background, have an equal chance to succeed.
