Orthopaedics Society: Research Lead

Dear fellow students,

I am thrilled to run for Research Lead of the Orthopaedics Society because I am passionate about making research more accessible and engaging for all students. Research is a vital aspect of medical training, and I want to ensure that everyone has the knowledge and opportunities to get involved. In this role, I will actively inform students about orthopaedic research opportunities, keeping you updated on projects, placements, and ways to gain hands-on experience. I will also organise insightful talks and workshops featuring experts in the field, covering topics such as how to secure research positions, develop critical skills, and publish work during medical school. Drawing from my own experience working at the MSK Lab in White City under Professor Cobb, the King’s Orthopaedic Surgeon, and contributing to various projects, I understand the challenges students face when trying to enter the research world. I will use this knowledge to provide practical guidance, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help you navigate your research journey with confidence. My goal is to make research more approachable, demystify the process, and help students develop the skills needed to thrive in academic medicine. Vote for me, and let’s build a strong, research-driven orthopaedic community together!

Thank you for your support!
