Sharon Anand

Hi everyone! My name is Sharon and I would love to be IC FemTech’s Advisor.

Seeing the barriers that women face in accessing timely diagnoses and appropriate treatment for their medical conditions firsthand as a Medical Student has propelled my passion for championing improvements in healthcare for women. So, I joined FemTech Society, where I learnt how technological advancements are revolutionising the landscape of female healthcare. While initially a member of Subcommittee, within the Media Team, this year I had the incredible honour of being Co-Chair alongside Sophia!

Both roles were completely different in their remits, allowing me to gain ample experience in multiple aspects of how FemTech Society functions. The diverse responsibilities meant I could develop an equally diverse skillset. I am now a proficient organiser, astute delegator and sensitive communicator whilst not shying away from any task at hand and maintaining a strong work ethic. I remain adaptable and aware of the demands of this dynamic society and the FemTech field itself. I believe the skills and the knowledge I have acquired from being immersed in IC FemTech over the last 2 years in these capacities stands me in good stead for the role of Advisor.

I hugely enjoyed bringing to life the vision that our Team had for IC FemTech this year, and working with so many wonderful women along the way to make it happen. I am so proud of our Society’s progress and I’m excited to support the incoming Committee to keep the momentum going!
