I would love to be your haematology vice president as I have a great interest in haematology, delving not just into the molecular biological side, but also into how this feeds into medical conditions. This interest will motivate me to give 100% commitment into the smooth-going of this society. Having previously led the committee of a medical society, I understand the inner workings of how things should be managed. This involves listening to every member of the teams' opinion, to ensure there are no disputes as well as ensuring the society has the best possible outcomes. It also means I have experience handling disagreements, and I understand the best way to deal with problems. As your vice president, I aim to revive haematology as a society, with events that can draw in the student population from the get-go - as they learn the topic in POM will be the best time to gain members. Some potential events include holding a conference with great speakers and workshops, so students can get a feel for what haematology is actually like. We can fundraise for this with events such as fun-runs and bake sales, as well as trivia nights all about haematology. To further spread engagement with this specialty, we can use the Instagram page to post regular interesting news or information about it in infographic form. We can also start with some free, online events to build awareness in a way that is easy for new people to join.
