Hello everyone!

My name is Zara, I am a current 4th Year Medic and I’m excited to be running for President of the Remote Medicine Society (ReM Soc) this year!

Over the last year, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Events Lead, where I organized the society’s first-ever speaker event, as well as helping run a Wilderness Medicine Conference and societies social media as well!

Being part of Remote Med Soc has been an amazing experience so far, and so I would love this opportunity to take the society even further.

I’m extremely passionate about Remote Medicine—it’s one of the most exciting fields, covering everything from Wilderness and Expedition Medicine to Space Medicine. As President, I want to bring this passion to life and continue growing our amazing community.

My Vision for the Year Ahead:

• Grow the society - expand the current committee and introduce a subcommittee to get more people involved!
• Host more academic & social events - including hands-on workshops, expert speaker panels, and networking opportunities.
• Build a strong community - with rock climbing socials, hiking trips outside London, and other adventure-filled socials that truly reflect the spirit of Remote Medicine.

ReM Soc is just getting started, and with the right leadership, I believe we can make it bigger and better than ever. I’d love to bring my experience, enthusiasm, and commitment to the role.
