Enrique Blasco
Dear fellow ChemEngers,
I am excited to run for the position of Sustainability Officer in our department because I am deeply committed to advancing sustainable practices within chemical engineering. As future engineers, we hold the power, and responsibility, to address global environmental challenges through innovation and collaboration.
If elected, I aim to champion initiatives that integrate sustainability into our academic and professional lives. From promoting research in green technologies to organising workshops and events that connect students, faculty, and industry leaders, I will work tirelessly to make sustainability a core part of our department’s culture. My goal is to inspire meaningful action and equip us all with the tools to become leaders in sustainable engineering.
My experience as an intern with Scottish Power Renewables gave me first-hand insight into sustainability practices in the energy sector, teaching me how to engage stakeholders and implement impactful initiatives. Additionally, my role as Secretary of the Spanish Society has sharpened my organisational skills, enabling me to plan events that bring people together around important causes.
Together, we can create a department that not only excels academically but also leads by example in building a sustainable future. I hope you’ll join me in this mission by supporting my candidacy.
Thank you for your consideration!
