Madhulika Mandavilli
Namaskaram! Na peru Madhulika. Translation: Greetings! My name is Madhulika.
Organising events is a lot like sustaining life: a good genomic and epigenomic make-up (a robust plan that is adaptable) and favourable conditions (crisis management when things do not go well). As a student of biological sciences, I believe I would be good at bringing plans to life.
I am fluent in Telugu in speech, reading and writing as well. To give some context, I achieved 96% on my CBSE grade X board examination. Lastly, growing up in a largely Telugu family and community in India has made me familiar with the cultural events and I believe that would aid me in bringing ‘100% Telugu vibes’ to everything we organise.
What I have planned:
1. A culture exhibit that could take two forms or a blend of both that everybody can appreciate: a food festival with a touch of history to showcase the diversity in the cuisine; a showcase of crafts, clothing and more that gives a snippet of lives of Telugu people.
2. Appreciating the history of the Telugu people – anything from a simple gathering of people telling stories to a play. It could be stories of mythology, kings and dynasties, the Nizams or even the fight for independence.
My main motivation for this role is to learn the happiness of giving rather than receiving; ‘life gives us many things, we must not forget to give back.’
Dhanyavadalu! Translation: Thank you
