Rhea Ponugubati

Hey, I'm Rhea, and I’m running for Community & Outreach Officer of Paediatrics Society! Although I’m relatively new to PaedsSoc, I’ve always found working with young people incredibly rewarding—from mentoring students through "Get into Medicine" workshops to teaching younger students on behalf of the RI. My outreach volunteering experience in primary schools has enhanced my ability to effectively connect with children, teachers, and parents—skills I believe will be highly valuable in this role.

I’m passionate about bringing paediatrics closer to students and our community, ensuring PaedsSoc is actively engaged beyond the university.

My aims:

• Launch the "Paeds in Schools" initiative—regular visits by medical students to secondary schools, introducing paediatrics through engaging, interactive sessions.
• Organize meaningful volunteering opportunities on paediatric wards and collaborate closely with child-focused charities.
• Strengthen our society’s community presence by building ongoing partnerships with local schools, hospitals, and other organizations, creating lasting collaborations.
• Implement structured feedback systems after each outreach event to ensure continuous improvement based on the needs of students and our community partners.
