Annie Alocious

Imperial Medical Women's Federation (MWF) Society : Chair

Hi! My name is Annie and here is my application for the role of MWF Chair :) Through my leadership roles, I have developed strong organisational and communication skills, which are crucial for leading a team effectively. As Conference Chair for NeuroSoc this year, I successfully led the 10th Annual Meeting of the Minds 2025, attracting 130+ delegates from across the UK, including Nobel Laureate Dr. John O’Keefe as our keynote speaker. This experience deepened my passion for fostering inclusive, high-quality academic events and strengthened my ability to bring a vision to life.

My involvement in multiple societies, including Surgical Society, Cardio, and Teddy Bear Hospital, has reinforced my commitment to diversity in medicine. As a strong advocate for women in healthcare, I admire MWF’s dedication to empowering female medical professionals. If elected as President, I would strive to expand our outreach, strengthen mentorship opportunities, and continue to celebrate the invaluable contributions of women in medicine.

I aim to build on past successes by collaborating with the national MWF team to enhance our conference and create new networking opportunities. Additionally, I would like to work with other London medical societies to foster interdisciplinary discussions and partnerships. By securing sponsorships and maintaining key professional relationships, I hope to ensure MWF’s continued growth and influence.

I am excited about the prospect of leading MWF and would be honoured to drive forward its mission of diversity, empowerment, and excellence in medicine.
