Maria Tiamzon

Mabuhay fellow members of the Filipino Society! I, Maria Tiamzon, will be running for First Year Representative next year.

As someone who joined Imperial just five months ago, I can easily recall the challenges of transitioning into university life. I believe I can relate to and connect with the first-year students on a personal level. I am quite the masayahin (cheerful) person, so I’ll be easy to approach and always ready to listen! I will take the initiative to reach out to the first-year students to ensure that their voices are heard.

My main priority, abiding by the warm and wholesome Filipino nature we all know, is to maintain a society that truly feels like a home and is a space where we can feel like pamilya (family)! I will aim to make it an environment where everyone feels truly welcome and no one is shy of each other. I want to create opportunities for us to connect and get closer - through social events, group chat discussions, or even informal gatherings. I want us to be able to share our experiences, learn from each other, and celebrate the richness of our diversity.
