Felix: Chief Copy Editor

Hello everyone!

My name is Beanice, a first-year student pursuing Economics, Finance & Data Science. I’m thrilled to announce my candidacy for the position of Chief Copy Editor of Felix!

Deeply inspired by Felix’s legacy of upholding the free speech of Imperial College students since 1949, I’m passionate about contributing to its motto (”Keep The Cat Free.") by ensuring diverse voices are represented.

I have consistently demonstrated excellence in academic writing, primarily reflected in my Top in the World Award for AS Level Literature in English. I have also contributed articles to various student publications, including research papers and miscellaneous school articles, all of which have enhanced my ability to convey complex ideas succinctly.

My meticulous attention to detail has also been trained through being the editorial executive of my high school’s yearbook, which has provided me with the skills to ensure the highest standards of editorial quality and integrity.

My goals:

  1. Provide constructive feedback to contributors, fostering their growth and enhancing the overall quality of submissions.
  2. Collaborate on expanding our online presence, making Felix more accessible to the Imperial community and beyond.

If you elect me as your Chief Copy Editor, I promise to make Felix reflect the incredible voices at Imperial engagingly. Together, we’ll make Felix an even stronger platform for creativity, debate, and student journalism.

Vote for me, and let’s write the next great chapter of Felix—one typo-free article at a time! 🐱📝
