Hey everyone,

I’m Raghul, and I am thrilled to be running for Treasurer of Imperial’s Respiratory Society. As a representative subcommittee of Oncology Society, I have organised renowned clinicians to present their integral research at surgical talks, liaised with speakers for our national surgical conference and moderated the Society’s lecture series taught by IMT doctors for preclinical medical students.

Advertising the National University Respiratory Conference and helping to run the International OesophagoGastric Cancer Conference has taught me about effective financial communication. Co-founding Imperial Polygeia, a global health think tank, has honed my skills in grasping favourable opportunities to enrich this society's experiences.

As President of my school’s Medical Society, I’ve developed a profound appreciation of the financial aspect behind upholding a Society. As a Phase 1 lecturer for MedEd, I acknowledge the significance of intricate planning, time management and responsible delegation to ensure promising sponsorships.

As your Treasurer, I promise to:

• maintain absolute transparency pertaining to financial records and keep events widely accessible to its members.
• explore unique fundraising activities such as park runs and tutorials to provide niche respiratory medicine-related experiences for us.
• work closely with sponsorship officers to stretch our budget and maximise on your contributions.
• reach out to independent start-ups, research institutions and private sectors to expand funding opportunities within the Society.

My mission as your treasurer is to deliver consistently high-quality experiences throughout the year. Vote for me and I will remain dedicated to sustainably managing this Society's funds and contributing to its growth. Thank you!
