Hello! My name is Salik and I'm excited to present my manifesto as Treasurer.

Let’s face it—great events, workshops, and opportunities don’t fund themselves, and I’m here to make sure Respiratory Society has the budget to breathe easy. With respiratory medicine being such a huge part of tackling global health challenges, I want to secure funding, keep our finances in check, and make sure our events are as accessible and exciting as possible.

If you vote for me, I’ll :

– Make sure our money goes where it actually matters—affordable workshops, top-tier speaker events, and valuable networking opportunities.

– Make sure there’s no shady spending! I’ll introduce quarterly financial reports, so you always know where the money’s going.

– I’ll negotiate subsidies for spirometry training, bronchoscopy workshops, and respiratory imaging courses, making sure you get practical skills without breaking the bank.

– Prioritise funding for revision sessions, conferences, and mentorship schemes, so students interested in respiratory medicine get the best possible support.

– Set up a sustainable financial plan, so future committees inherit a well-funded, thriving society instead of scrambling for cash.

I’ve handled sponsorships, managed budgets, and organised big events through my work with ICSMSU, Imperial ISoc CW, and DIW, so I know how to make money work for a society.
