Karam Bhatia

Namaste! My name is Karam Bhatia, and I am excited to stand for the position of Events Officer of the Imperial College Hindu Society. As a British-born Hindu with roots in both Punjabi and Rajasthani cultures, I feel deeply connected to our rich heritage and traditions. My goal is to plan and execute well-organised, engaging, and inclusive events that celebrate our culture, strengthen our community, and create lasting memories.

As Events Officer, I will be responsible for coordinating and delivering HinduSoc’s key events, including major cultural celebrations, formal gatherings, and collaborations with other societies. From large-scale festivals like Diwali, Holi, and Navratri to speaker panels and religious ceremonies, I will ensure every event is meticulously planned and runs smoothly. I will manage venue bookings, budgeting, scheduling, and promotion to maximise participation and enhance the experience for all members.

Having been part of the HinduSoc subcommittee, I understand what goes into making an event successful. I will work closely with the committee to bring fresh ideas, improve logistics, and explore partnerships with external organisations, sponsors, and vendors to elevate our events.
