Hindu Society: Events Officer

Namaste, I am Prerana!

2nd-Year Aero Student

I am running for Events Officer to create and support events that bring us together as a community. Many of us grew up naturally connected to Sanatan Dharma, but now, as independent individuals, it’s up to us to take that initiative ourselves.

I will strive to enhance our big social events while supporting initiatives that strengthen our knowledge. Our three iconic events—Diwali, Navratri, and Holi— are core to our uni experience. I hope to share these celebrations with non-Hindu friends and eventually make them popular Imperial-wide events!

I also aim to introduce more festival celebrations, bhajan evenings, and casual get-togethers. Through the subcommittee, we successfully organised Shivratri, which had an amazing turnout and atmosphere. I have also organised many events in halls, including Wilson House’s first-ever Diwali celebration last year. I also choregraphed classical dance for EMW this year which has taught me a lot about managing and organising.

Sanatan Dharma is full of hidden treasures, and we are so blessed to be part of it. Events strengthen our identity, create an atmosphere of love and faith, and give us something priceless to hold on to.

Since the start, Hindu Society has been my priority, and I want to take it to new heights. Working with the committee, I am dedicated to making this an unforgettable year and building momentum that lasts beyond our time at Imperial.

Put your faith in me—vote for me for Events Officer!
