Plastic Surgery: Microsurgery Conference Chair

As Social Secretary of Iranian Society, I revived Imperial’s Persian community after years of inactivity, consistently organising 100+ attendee events across London universities. This strengthened my communication and leadership skills, essential for coordinating a conference as vast as Microsurgery.

Securing sponsorships and liaising with the Union, partners, and societies for our Nowruz event highlights effective collaboration, a skill I’ll apply when working with the Finance and Publicity teams to maximise engagement. Reviving the society also connected me with the British Iranian Medical Association, expanding my network for securing speakers and delegates.

My dedication to iPRAS, from delegate to subcommittee member, has made me fluent in its logistics and areas for improvement. Putting my passion for microsurgery into action when helping at iPRAS’ teaching series strengthened my knowledge regarding collaborations with start-ups, designing workshops, and identifying key topics for delegates. This insight, combined with my passion for ENT highlighted by my past shadowing of ENT consultants, will allow me to introduce ENT as a new interspecialty.

I will broaden the conference’s scope while refining its long-term impact, delivering a well-rounded conference reflecting microsurgery’s essential and growing role in the OR . My focus on hosting speakers across different specialties is of plastic surgery’s essence, being the only surgical specialty working with the entire human anatomy.

I am eager to expand iPRAS’ charitable efforts, drawing from my experience in PotMed, Refugee Drives, and PlayTeams, by initiating a new collaboration with Breast Cancer UK, reflecting the strong presence of breast reconstruction in microsurgery.
