Hasan Zaidi
Hey buddy!
As co-chair of the first collaborative conference between Surg Soc and IPRAS (RTS)—hosting 23 surgeons and 82 students (if one is sneaky with the numbers and counts committee members in addition to the 55 ticket sales) over two days—I have first-hand experience in:
✔ Securing speakers, workshop leads, demonstrators, & sponsorships
✔ Booking venues, writing risk assessments and event proposals
✔ Sourcing and transporting surgical materials (including medical meat)
✔ Managing promotions & ticket sales
✔ Handling medical waste disposal
I lecture for JAS, MM, MedEd, and am a CPA tutor; I am committed to medical education and mentorship.
My Vision:
I will decide a teaching series theme based on popular demand - currently considering trauma, craniofacial, and complex oncoplastics!!!
1️⃣ Innovating Surgical Simulation – I have been inspired by Kyleen and Anuska. Having stepped into the exciting world of surgical simulation by constructing an 'iffy' nail-bed repair model, I would look to develop more comfortable and realistic simulation experiences than those offered by non-IPRAS events.
2️⃣ Expanding Collaboration – I advocate for joint events rather than competing ones, furthering impact and ticket sales. I would continue to strengthen London’s Plastics Community with IPRAS at the epicentre using my experience working on collaborative events with KCL, Barts, and SGUL.
3️⃣ Keeping Committee Fun & Engaging.
IPRAS has been a defining part of my medical school journey. I have attended every IPRAS event since my second year, feeling deeply connected to its mission.
🗳 Vote Hasan Zaidi for Teaching Series Lead and STAY AWESOME!
