Adrian Lee
Hello ICSM tennis! This is Adrian, one of your resident fossils here who has been accused rightfully of only ever showing up to FPR and Circle Line exclusively; and I’m running to be your education officer for 25/26!
ICSM Tennis has always been a tight-knit community where seniors and committee members love giving back, such as by teaching and guiding younger years. As an incoming 6th year, and a previous beneficiary of teaching sessions and mock exams organised by my own seniors, I’m looking to pay it back to the Tennis community as your education officer.
Unlike my rather inconsistent attempts at actually playing tennis, I will commit to maintaining our current education ideas, such as organising specialty teaching for third-years, mock PACES and finals circuits for fifth- and sixth-years, and sharing general advice regarding academics (all years, medic and non-medic where I can).
Some new ideas including expanding support to freshers and second-years in general, which can be a good way to retain new joiners and foster greater bonding via education; or revitalise a fresher buddy/mentorship scheme for all degrees, both as a way to provide academic support whilst strengthening our network across Imperial (and cement our place as the most well-received tennis club in the uni;)
If you have any ideas on how us older years can support you better, I’m always open to discuss them. Looking forward to an awesome year with you all!
