Akshaya Muthirulandi

Hello everyone, my name is Akshaya Muthirulandi, and I am running for the position of Events Officer.

You might be wondering—why me? Well, I bring a wealth of experience from my previous roles. I've served as the Webmaster for the Surgical Society and as the Publicity Officer for the Society of Research and Academia, where I developed strong organisational and time management skills. Additionally, I had the privilege of serving as the Head of Culture for the Imperial Tamil Society, where I gained valuable experience in event planning, promotions, and managing events.

As your Events Officer, here’s what I aim to implement:

• I will organize a speed networking event to connect students with gastroenterologists and hepatologists, providing an invaluable opportunity for networking and mentorship.

• I will work with other societies to host an informational BSc fair for prospective fourth-year students, offering insight into the various opportunities and pathways in the field of gastroenterology.

• I will establish a teaching series aimed at first- and second-year students, focusing on key topics in gastroenterology to enhance their learning and interest in the subject.

I am passionate about creating meaningful experiences for our members, and I believe my background in event planning and society work will allow me to deliver engaging and impactful events for everyone. I would be honored to serve as your Events Officer and contribute to the growth of our society.
