Teju Raj Mohan
Hi! I'm Tejaswini, and I’m standing for the role of Education Officer. I've been interested in gastroenterology and hepatology since sixth form, when I attended a lecture on the gut microbiome which became my EPQ topic. I’d love to be on the committee to organise events that can spark a similar interest in this field of medicine amongst current students.
I possess a range of skills that will help me be successful in this role. As house captain in sixth form, I had to be organised and adaptable to run large events – this will help me in the efficient planning of activities. Furthermore, the communication skills developed when sourcing sponsorship for these events can be utilised when seeking experts to deliver talks at workshops. I love teaching and have 4 years of experience as a tutor; hence I look forward to being involved in developing tutorials and practice questions. Plus, being on the ICSM Vision subcommittee allowed me to develop teamworking skills which will help me when collaborating with the rest of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology committee to organise activities. I would love to start a journal club too as this will be a great opportunity to critique research and discuss new ventures in the field.
I believe my unique set of skills makes me fit for this role and I look forward to developing these attributes and learning new ones too. I can’t wait to work with the committee to deliver events that everyone can get involved in!
