Hi, my name is Sang-Ryun (or just Ryan!), a first year medic, subcommittee member, routine volunteer, and photography addict. I'll be running for Web Officer this year to transform our website into an engaging, go-to resource for volunteers and schools.
Right now, TBH's website is undervalued, and not many people know about it. I aim to change that! With experience in website building (including one in the works for prospective medics) I want to modernise the site and make it dynamic and useful.
Regulars might have seen me running around snapping photos with my camera and fumbling with lenses that one afternoon. Others might have seen a post which stands out on the Instagram (that was me!). But web design, like photography, isn't just about what "looks nice", it should capture and communicate the full vibe. As a result:
I will:
- Make volunteering easier - Add a calendar for upcoming events and travel information
- Strengthen outreach - Work with School Liaison Officers to create a professional first impression
- Bridge the website and social media - Collaborate with the Publicity Officer for synchronised updates
- Refresh outdated content - Replace old photos with high-quality, meaningful images (I’ll take them for free! - see my campaign media)
- Improve navigation - Create a clearer divide between volunteer and school sections
- Keep content fresh - Launch a ‘News & Highlights’ section featuring volunteer and school testimonials
If elected, the website will reflect the society's energy :)
PS. I'll be documenting the AGM by shooting photos. Let me know if you'd like them!
