Lavanya Murki
Hi everyone I’m Lavanya, a third year medical student, and I’m running to be the UAEM Innovation Lead.
Public health plays a significant role in shaping the health of the population. I have been interested in Public Health since learning about it in the LMAP module in 2nd year. I have always been interested in understanding the wider aspects and determinants of patient health and the role that doctors play. If I were to be elected as UAEM Innovation Lead I would work with committee to bring about new ideas and implement these.
My previous experience involves being on committee as Early Years Representative in GP society which involved organising tutorials and being involved on committee with the annual conference. I have also been on subcommittee with Teddy Bear Hospital where I helped adapt stations in collaboration with Neurodiversity society. I believe these experiences have equipped me with the skills required to work effectively in a team.
I am a highly organised, driven and reliable individual and I will work hard to meet the responsibilities of my new role. I will ensure that I do my best in this position.
