General Practice (ICSM): Early Years Representative

I am excited to apply for the role of Early Years Academic Officer as I am passionate about supporting younger students in their learning and helping them gain a better understanding of General Practice as a career.

With my experience as Head of a Subcommittee for Imperial Tamil Society, I have developed strong teamwork and organisational skills, which I will apply to this role. I aim to organise engaging talks and workshops specifically for Year 1 and Year 2 students, inviting GPs, F1s, and F2s to share their experiences and provide insight into the role of a GP.

Additionally, to incorporate Public Health, I think organising monthly discussions where students come together to discuss current issues in public health would be beneficial to students as well as help students connect with other students.

To encourage engagement, I will use social media, email newsletters, and polls to understand what early-year students need support with. All talks will be recorded to ensure accessibility for everyone.

I am committed to making General Practice exciting and approachable for early-year students and believe my experience, enthusiasm, and organisational abilities make me well-suited for this role.
