Society of Research and Academia: External Research Coordinator

Hi I’m Mingma and I’m excited about running for SORA’s external research coordinator!

As external research coordinator I hope to:

communicate research and mentorship opportunities for members
liaise with professionals who have been successfully involved in research to organise talks, ranging from introducing research to target members who may be unfamiliar with it, to ones in which they can potentially get directly involved in
collaborate with other internal and external societies on events and workshops

I am very eager to be involved in this society, as I’ve had a lasting interest in research from attending lecture series to being involved in essay competitions. As project manager for a website where we research and bring light onto complex societal problems, I have first-hand experience leading a team in systematically investigating sources and providing valuable insights and conclusions. My organisational and communication skills from my past experience as a volunteer for a local action group would also be of benefit to this role, and in supporting the committee members in the events they put on throughout the year.
