Research is at the heart of scientific progress, and as a Research Officer, I want to ensure that every student—regardless of experience—has the opportunity to engage in meaningful research, develop key skills, and contribute to academia.
Having researched hypervigilance and vestibular perception, as well as leading clinical audits like the DATES audit on TIA services and the Pharmacy First audit, I understand both the excitement and challenges of student research. Too often, students struggle to find guidance, mentorship, or even where to begin. That’s why I want to:
- Expand research opportunities by working with Imperial academics, clinicians, and external institutions to guide how to secure projects for students.
- Host research skills workshops, covering study design, statistical analysis, academic writing, and publishing, to help students develop the skills needed to succeed in research.
- Facilitate student-led research projects, allowing members to form teams and work on real-world scientific questions with support from mentors and faculty.
- Streamline access to research opportunities by maintaining a clear, accessible database of ongoing projects, making it easier for students to get involved.
If you want better research access, hands-on experience, and more support for student-led projects, vote for me as Research Officer. Let’s make research more engaging, accessible, and impactful for all.
