Joseph Collins

Hi, I'm Joseph.

I'm from Birmingham and I’m currently in my first year of Civil Engineering. I have been quizzing pretty much non-stop (it seems) since I started at Imperial. I have had so much fun already and have met so many great people. Because of this I want to be more active within the society.

I know that I can make positive contributions to the committee and do everything that is required of me. My philosophy is guided by the first rule of quizzing (which is “have fun” if you aren’t familiar). I have demonstrated my passion for quizzing in my first year, attending a wide variety of tournaments and having lots of fun. Helping with the Spring Novice tournament shows my commitment to dedicating my time to Quizbowl and my desire to contribute to UK Quizbowl as a whole. I have experience with positions of responsibility; I was co-leader of my school’s Sustainability Society for 2 years and a House Captain. I aim to use my voice on the committee to ensure that the amazing growth that we have seen in ICQS this year continues. I will speak on behalf of anyone who comes to me with a suggestion or concern. In doing so I will ensure transparency around the ICQS decision making process. I will also secure the future supply of pizza, arguably the OCM’s most important job.
