Mei Tan
Hi everyone, I’m Mei – a 3rd year medical student passionate about all things Med and Tech! I’m thrilled to be running for Events Lead in MedTech, which my current involvement with has only solidified my desire to expand further into.
The National Conference is a cornerstone event that herds researchers, pioneers and students into a hub of creative ventures; I am excited at the prospect of co-ordinating and being involved in this prestigious event, for which I plan to curate a panoramic program, fostering learning, collaboration and innovation for all participants.
My role in organising the MedTech Hackathon this year has primed my skills in strategic event planning, regarding speaker arrangements, event logistics and keynote networking. My involvement in other key events throughout Imperial medical societies has built a strong foundation for event organising, from both a student and managerial perspective. I work as a logistics offer for In2MedSchool, where I co-ordinate webinars on topics such as mental health and student life, providing me with a holistic skillset to organising similar events.
I have plenty of ideas for this year’s conference, including hands-on workshops to empower participants with practical experience in medical device development, coding in healthcare and startup pitching. I also aim to provide more opportunities for participants to network, linking prospectives in the MedTech field of all levels together.
Overall, I feel that this highly operational background well equips me to be the perfect candidate for this role - thank you for your time and support.
