Pauline Njau
Hi, my name is Pauline. I am a first-year medical student, and I would love to be your ACS events officer.
Joining ACS has given me a true sense of community and belonging. It’s been a space where I’ve met people with similar experiences, values, and backgrounds, making my university experience so much more meaningful. Being part of ACS has made me realise how important it is to create events that bring people together.
My experience as a playworker, where I organised events for disadvantaged children, has given me the skills to plan, coordinate, and execute events that are engaging and memorable. As Events Officer, I would plan a diverse range of events that celebrate Afro-Caribbean culture, promote personal development, and create long-lasting memories.
AIMS:
- Provide engaging events that cater to all interests, ensuring everyone feels welcome
- A Survey at the end of each event so we can use the feedback to improve our events
- Ensure risk assessments are carried out before each event to ensure we are operating safely
- Conduct a survey at the beginning of the year to understand what events students want, ensuring our calendar reflects their interests
- Plan events in advance to allow students time to organise their schedules around the events
