Who am I, and why am I running?
Hey everyone, I’m Henry, and I’m running to be your next Head of Sell-Side at Finsoc. Like many of you, I’m currently navigating the sell-side journey. I understand how competitive and unclear this path can be—and that's exactly why I want to step up to help others who share this ambition.
What I'll do if elected:
1. Real Career Support:
a. Launch tailored Sell-Side Prep Workshops, focusing on technical interviews, valuation fundamentals, financial modelling, and effective networking.
b. Produce a straightforward, practical Finsoc Sell-Side Handbook, making recruitment more transparent and manageable.
2. Industry Connections that Count:
a. Strengthen and expand relationships with banks and trading firms to secure more exclusive networking events/workshops specifically for Finsoc members.
b. Set up a genuine mentorship programme with alumni and professionals actively working in sell-side roles.
3. Hands-On Learning Experiences:
a. Run engaging, practical mock investment banking and trading simulations. No more theory-only sessions—we’ll experience what it's actually like on a trading floor or an M&A pitch room.
4. Dedicated Spring Week Accelerator:
a. Create an organised Spring Week Accelerator, helping you land those critical early-stage experiences.
