Adara Donson

Hi there! I'm Adara (or Addie), a first-year BMB student from the UK/China running for Vice President for Investment Banking, FinSoc :)

Knowing how daunting it can be to apply to the investment banking industry, I think FinSoc does an amazing job promoting opportunities and providing support. I would love to contribute to the continual growth of FinSoc by helping support students and encouraging peer-collaboration!

If elected I would:

1. Create a family system within IB, where older years mentor younger years during the application process
2. Collaborate committee to create courses with certificates introducing IB and explaining key concepts
3. Host insight panel talks from alumni/industry professionals for spring week and summer internship applications
4. Create guides for each stages of IB applications: cover letters, CVs, HireVues, assessments
5. Communicate with leading banks for valuable insights to promote trading competitions, bank visits and key-skills workshops
6. Arrange both social and career-networking events

I believe my experiences in initially not knowing a lot about finance, but actively learning and engaging with the material available, and embracing opportunities has been valuable and insightful. I hope I can collaborate with committee others to make next year better than the last and provide support to all society members.
