Nicholas Finnemore Capon Diaz
Hello everyone,
My name is Nick, and I'm currently an undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering with a deep-seated interest in investment management. Over the past year, I co-managed QUeen's Tower Capital, managing to:
1. Create the opportunity for 100s of students to paractive their ability to generate an investment thesis, support it, and then pitch it to investors.
2. Developed the fund to more professional standard, with the development of investment pitchdecks for each sector every week, with access given to the entire society.
3. Brought in and interviewed professional investors, to give members insight into how professionals approach investing.
My goals for next year are:
-
Develop the quantitative branch of QTC, given the growing interest from students throughout this year.
-
Organize workshops and events designed to demystify the investment process. I plan to invite industry leaders to share their insights and experiences, providing valuable learning opportunities for everyone interested.
-
Create an inclusive forum where any member can propose ideas, sparking constructive discussions and collaborative exploration.
As the portfolio manager, my approach would be two-fold: making sure that Queen's Tower Capital offers an industry-like experience for those interested, and cultivating an environment within the Investment Society that is welcoming to all. Whether you're an experienced investor eager to share insightful analyses or a student curious about the investment realm outside the STEM field, our society will be a place for you to thrive and expand your horizons.
Looking forward to building a more connected and knowledgeable investment community together.
Best, Nick
