Medical Education: Early Years Coordinator

Hi, I'm Rohan Boyapati, a Year 3 medical student at Imperial College London. I am running for the role of MEDED Early Years Coordinator because of my passion for improving the quality of teaching for Year 1 and Year 2 students.

Having hosted a teaching session for Year 1 students, I’ve gained insight into the challenges that early years students face when transitioning to medical school. Additionally, my experience teaching a small group of Year 2 students during CPA sessions allowed me to see firsthand the importance of tailored teaching in supporting students through the foundational years. These experiences have motivated me to ensure that Year 1 and 2 students receive the best possible teaching support to succeed academically and clinically.

Plan:

Organize extra teaching sessions that address areas where students commonly need more support.
Develop online resources and workshops to cater to different learning styles and make materials more accessible.
Work closely with faculty and fellow coordinators to deliver high-quality and engaging teaching.
