Zahra Sheikh

Hello! I'm Zahra, a second year medic. I'm running for the position of General Committee member because I'm passionate about making a real difference through charity fundraising, while having loads of fun along the way!

In 2022, I had the privelige of leading the most successful charity event in my school’s history, which taught me invaluable lessons in teamwork, event organisation, and driving successful fundraising initiatives. I've also been actively involved in raising funds for Breast Cancer Awareness Week and volunteering with Kissing It Better, one of the charities RAG supports this year. This sounds a little med school interview-ish but I really love collaborating with others, and I'm excited by the opportunity to work within a large, dedicated committee, especially for the efforts of helping those in need.

Since the very first ICSMSU talk we had on day 1 of med school, I had the best first impression of RAG. This society seamlessly combines altruistic fundraising through iconic events that are at the heart of the Imperial med student experience. From the Fashion Show to Circle Line, RAG events set us apart from other med schools and are key in cultivating the ICSM community atmosphere we all love.

As part of the General Committee, I will work tirelessly to ensure classic events continue to thrive and would love to explore new, innovative ways to engage the ICSM community in fundraising efforts.
