RAG (ICSM): General Committee

Taking part in the RAG Charity Day cemented my desire to join the Committee. It was an amazing experience to support people through volunteering and to be part of a group dedicated to making a positive difference to the wider community. The RAG society creates lasting connections and friendships in the ICSM, which is a valuable part of being at university. I love the way RAG events like the Fashion Show allow people bond over having fun, as well as raising money for charity.
Before I came to Imperial, I volunteered at my local food bank and could see how important it was to be involved in working together to raise money and to support people who were going through a difficult time in their lives.
Being a regular Sports Night attendee means that I can liaise across the different sports teams to help organise sports-related RAG events. Furthermore, when I was at sixth form, I was President of the Feminist Society, where I organised meetings and came up with different (and original!) ideas for events. I think it’s important to make sure that people feel involved and listened to. These experiences have helped to give me an overview of how to work effectively as part of a committee.
I also genuinely care about helping people and would love to join a society that feels the same!
