Have you struggled with networking? Have you ever found yourself uncertain about how to secure publications? Maybe you have sent a few dozen emails to doctors and researchers for some extra hospital or laboratory experience, but with no success? As Conference Chair of the Neuro Society, I promise to change that and help you with your future career by organizing invaluable events and meetings.
Through my internships at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, I am intimately acquainted with world renowned neurosurgeons, who would be delighted to speak at the conferences and provide crucial advice to the students. I have been invited to speak at the Society of British Neurosurgeons conference in Belfast, as well as to the Association of Veterans Affairs Surgeons meeting in Atlanta. My poster has been accepted to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, NANSIG, RSM conferences, and Global Surgery and Research conferences. While preparing for and attending the events, I developed crucial public speaking, interpersonal, and time-management skills, all of which are required for the position. Additionally, I have several pending publications, and I will do everything in my power to help aspiring neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neuroscientists find similar opportunities.
I have worked as the Council Representative for Undergraduate Medicine, acting on behalf of all 2,000 medical students at Imperial. This opportunity carried significant responsibility and provided me with insights into the dynamics of the Imperial College Union. I believe that the contacts and knowledge I have obtained can aid this society.
Thank you.
