Nicole Yang
Hi everyone! I’m Nicole, a first-year Medical Biosciences student running for Vice President.
Although I study BMB, I plan to take the Pharmacology & Toxicology module next year. I’m passionate about pharmacology and aspire to work in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in developing affordable drugs for rare diseases. With personalized medicine on the rise, I hope to contribute to this evolving field.
I recently published an academic article, “Nanoparticle-based Genetic Therapy for Cystic Fibrosis (CF),” in the Gazette 2025 Winter Edition—feel free to check it out!
In terms of leadership, I was a high school prefect for three years and hosted a subcommittee game at Famine 24 (ICPASS). I’ve also taken on multiple roles, including:
- Subcommittee member of ICPASS & BiomED
- Co-Head of Media at AAHK
- Secretary of my high school’s Photography Club
These experiences demonstrate my flexibility, teamwork, and dedication.
As Vice President, my goals are to:
- Expand professional networks – Organize in-person & online talks/conferences.
- Provide academic support – Compile and share senior students’ study notes.
- Enhance internship & research opportunities – Connect with pharmaceutical companies and research labs.
I’m eager to contribute to the Pharmacology Society and support fellow students. Vote for me, and let’s make a difference together!
